Queen: "The Game"

Queen's eighth (8th) studio album, "The Game" was released in June 1980.
This was the only Queen LP to reach #1 in the US, and it is tied with "News of the World" with 4 million copies sold.
Memorable tunes from this album include "Another One Bites the Dust" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."  Their song "Rock It (prime jive)" pre-dated Herbie Hancock's popular "Rockit" by a few years.

This album went off to a new home in France.

Queen: "A Day at the Races"

Apologies, but the pics of the front, back, and gatefold on this one are horrible quality.

If you didn't know it already, this is a great, relatively early Queen LP.
Released in December 1976.
Songs you might recognize:
"Tie Your Mother Down"
"Somebody to Love"

This LP went to California fan.

Queen: "Flash Gordon" (Soundtrack)

The movie was pure cheddar.
The music was not what you'd call top-notch Queen.
But it does have its moments.
And it is, after all, Queen.

Did I mention this was cheese?

The LP went to a dedicated fan somewhere in California.

Queen: "Hot Space"

Released in 1982 on the heels of their Greatest Hits LP, this album included "Under Pressure" as well as some fun tracks like "Staying Power" and "Body Language."  It did not enjoy anything like the commercial success of most of its predecessors.

Canada.  It went to Canada with a big ol' stack of its brethren.

Queen: "The Works"

Released in 1984, this LP unfortunately seemed to mark a continuing decline in the striking quality of Queen's earlier offerings.  Still great fun to listen to, it gave us the classic "Radio Gaga," but it just did not quite reach the heights of previous LPs.

Have I mentioned the large package of LPs that migrated to Canada?

Queen: "Greatest Hits"

As Greatest Hits LPs go, this one should absolutely be in any self-respecting collection that even pretends to be about Rock History; not to mention that it presents some of THE BEST music EVER.  I do not think that point can be overstated.  PLUS this LP includes the previously unreleased collaboration with David Bowie entitled "Under Pressure."
If you click on the picture of the jacket back below you can see the track list.
Breath-taking.

Released in 1981 between "The Game" and "Hot Space."

This one was part of that large LP party that danced off to Canada.

Queen: "Jazz"

"Don't Stop Me Now," "Fat Bottomed Girls," "Bicycle Race," "If You Can't Beat 'Em, Join 'Em" and more. Some of the funnest listening EVER!

This LP got really ambitious and traveled all the way to Singapore (from the USA).

Queen: "A Night at the Opera"

This was Queen's fourth studio LP, released in 1975. Contains the gigantic international sensation "Bohemian Rhapsody."

These pics were some of my first attempts at capturing album art.
I know. Not too great. But better than no pic at all, I reckon.

If I still had the album, I'd retake the pics. But this one now hangs out with a fan in Maryland.

Queen: "News of the World"

This was Queen's sixth studio LP, released in 1977. It includes the fabulous, timeless "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" and some other great songs that are much less known such as "Get Down, Make Love."

Bizarre but oddly intriguing album art....

This LP flew off to a fan in the Great White North (that would be "Canada").

Queen (eponymous)

Queen's excellent first LP, released in 1973. Queen is definitely in my top ten favorite bands of all time, maybe even in the top five. I've never been too great at making those kinds of lists because my tastes run such a wide gamut. What I know is that Queen is one of the maybe three bands for whom I consciously tried to own every LP.

Their music was still slightly raw and immature on this LP, but it is still crazy good.

This LP sailed out of my collection to find a home with another fan in California. Never fear. I saved all of the music digitally, so even though I can no longer touch and ponder the album itself, I can still listen to the music any time.
